Best friend's Boyfriend

Ok... So my best friend has recently got a boyfriend. Let's call him.. Koby. He is a total jerk, in a friendly sort of way, and I don't like him. But my friend.. let's call her Marin.. likes him A LOT. and it is SO INCREDIBLY ANNOYING. I must admit.. before I met him she made him sound like her perfect match, and because she was in love with a buddhist guy at the time, I totally supported this relationship. But now he has totally taken over my part in her life. She talks about him all the time, texts him constantly, and dedicates all her free time to him. We have nothing to talk about now, because I strongly dislike her new man. I feel like I've lost a sister, because that's honestly what she was to me. An older sister. Something I have never had as the oldest child in my family. And it's not just the fact that he's her whole world. Her personality has changed. Something about her now just makes her annoying and loud and mushy all the time. I don't know what to do. Guess I just needed to vent for a while. I still don't feel better....

FINALS ARE OVER!

i hate finals. i hate the studying, i hate the searching, i hate that sick feeling you get in the pit of your stomach as the teacher hands out the test. and i REALLY hate the pressure to get an A. SO annoying! so far in my high school career, i haven't had to face the discouragement of getting a B in a class, but i always have a serious mental breakdown at the end of every tri. and this tri is no exception. especially since my Algebra teacher wasn't there on the day we took our final, and so she STILL hasn't posted grades! AHHH! it is slowly killing me inside. seriously.

anyways... i was in a musical in february. our schools production of "The Sound of Music". a fresman got the part of maria.. LAME-SAUCE! but it's ok. i've come to terms with the fact that i will never be good enough for a main part. oh.. sad day. =( this realization has been cemented by the fact that i am once again a townsperson for our communities rendition of "Cinderella". the two main parts are being played by two people who have never even been in a musical before! it's a seriously hit to my ego. but enough feeling sorry for myself. it's still waaaay fun! and i love it! a lot! it's AMAZING! and actually, i should be complaining about SOM.. cuz i did get a small singing part. i even had 2 lines! YA BABY! and my little sister was Marta.. and she was the cutest one up there! =) all right.. that's it for me! peace out!

school started!

hey ya'll! i know i know.. it's been a while. i bet you're saying to yourself.. "where is that crazy girl? did she dropped off the face of the earth??" well the answer is NO! i am still alive and well.. thank you very much. and the truth is, there is a lot to catch up on. but we shall start with school. =)

crazy as it sounds.. i love school. i say i don't, but that is a total and complete lie. i love the social atmosphere, the learning, my teachers, even the homework. (ok.. that might be a bit of an exaggeration!) the point is, i have been blessed with the opportunity to go to a public school to learn, and that is not something i am not willing to take for granted. there are kids in other countries that would give all they own just to get an education. well.. i love getting that education. i' m going to use it to make the world a better place.

now that i've completed my soap-box for the day.. i am a sophomore in high school. this tri i'm taking spanish, honors english, honors biology, algebra II, and seminary. it's challenging, and there's a lot of work, but it's fun. the kids in my classes are fantastic! i just finished being on the cross-country team, something i've taken a vow never to do again. (no offense to all you "fit" people.. but running is for crazy people). our football team is officially out of the running for state championships.. and that's a real bummer. the whole school has been depressed for a week. i'm on the school newspaper staff, where me and my partner in crime, lacie, are writing a hard-core expose' on the recent drop in gas prices. just kidding.. it'll probably be pretty juvinille stuff. =) but that's ok.. as long as i'm not editor.. i love it!

so.. that's pretty much my school-related life thus far. i mean, i left some things out. i don't want to BORE you to death! but i hope all is well for my millions of fans... (haha... jk.kate, i love you!) have a wonderful election day! hope they pick the right guy!

family reunion

the browning reunion is the biggest event of my summer.. and once it is over, everyone is officially resigned to the fact that school is coming. this year was no exception. over hte 24th of july week, we floated a canal, had an amazing talent show, and ate to our hearts content. 4 of my male cousins.. haha.. formed a band. they are officially called the tree of life. they spent basically the whole time writing and practicing songs. very complex, considering we were camped out across from the town dump. they had a mini concert on the last day though, and they were suprisingly good. i was impressed. and i am their numero uno fan! haha! pioneer day is a huge thing in this town.. it's even smaller than the one i live in.. shocking, eh? they have a giant parade complete with incredible floats, and a rodeo. there is even a "fun run" early that morning. (which i totally did.. and won! heck yea!) the whole thing is made more exciting by the embroidered bright red t-shirts all 48 of us wore. it was insanely fun though! i love my family!

table rock

so... on July 31- august 2 i climbed a mountain. it was my 4th level hike for girls camp. ya.. totally lame, i know. it's called table rock, and for all those non-hikers/outdoorsy people.. table rock is a giant rock, shaped in a tablish formation. it's like, right by the grand teton, and is 4000 feet up. you should google it. there are some insane numbers involved. i was totally not wanting to go.. at all. but with a ton of help that came in several forms, i was ready. and it really wasn't as bad as i thought. true, it took 9 hours.. and true, i could barely move the next day.. but it really was a good experience. because now, everytime a challenge comes my way, i can just say "i climbed table rock.. i can do this too".

that lesson came just in time too. while we were on the top of table rock, one of my leaders received a text (i know! it's amazing that she had service clear the heck up there) that a girl in my class had been in an accident, and passed away. the good news that came out of that were that several lives were saved because of her organs. her funeral was today. it was absolutely heartbreaking. we weren't close friends, but she was such a sweetheart. i can sincerely say i will miss her.

4th of July

the 4th of July was soo incredibly fun this year! the night before my bestest friend in the whole wide world spent the night at my house, and we stayed up till like, 4ish.. and then we had to wake up at like, 7 to get her home and to the parade on time. so i was functioning on 3 hours of sleep the whole day. i don't do well sleep deprived. so, we went to the parade. it was pretty good.. i guess. there were the mandatory creepy clowns, marching bands, and some freakishly sweet floats. i love parades! but this stupid little kid kept going in front of me.. and stealing all my candy. lame! oh well.. i guess i'll live.. after the parade we went to a bunch of different stores. i stayed in the car to catch some z's. we weren't shopping for me anyways. we were getting my dad some jeans. then we went to my grandmothers house.. which is so much fun! my dad decided we all needed to experience the float down the canal that he spent his childhood summers in. so there were me and 3 of my siblingsgoing down the canal in this tiny raft. mucho mucho exciting. the people that lived along the canal came out and were laughing at us. it was pretty pathetic. but then we got the rest of my cousins, some more rafts, and found a better spot to go down. we went down all afternoon. it was sooo much fun! wow. i want to do that all the time. then we had the traditional BBQ and went to fireworks. it was so awesome. we are so blessed to live in America. i doubt any other country is as freakishly fabulous as this one. we all should be extremely grateful. and proud.
